Villa Riviera - Poolside Hacienda with Sweeping Views

As you cruise the ridgeline drive to this property, it is clear why this area of Santa Barbara is known as the “The American Riviera”. With a beautiful view of the coastline below, this home lives up to its name. The feeling of being in a classic hacienda is emphasized by the adobe exterior, and the many rooms which open to spacious patios and decks.

The living room is bright and open with high beam ceilings, slate fireplace, earth tone walls, and warm wood floors. Step out through the French doors to the wrap-around tile porch. Sip your morning coffee from comfortable cushioned chairs, or enjoy dinner for 6 under a shady umbrella table, each offering a fantastic view of the city and coastline below.

Adjacent to the living room is the media room with a 42” flat screen TV, DVD, and DVR. Natural slate floors and tongue and groove ceiling give this room an indoor-patio feel. This room also converts to a possible 5th bedroom with the futon sofa. Once again, access to the South facing views outside is assured by opening French doors.

The kitchen overlooks the living room and is accented by earth tone granite counters, stainless steel appliances, and warm pendant lighting. A formal dining room, neighboring the kitchen, seats up to 8 comfortably.

The two-bedroom Master Suite is serene, spacious, and overlooks the backyard pool area. This suite offers a king size bed, large walk-in closet, and generous size bathroom with large walk-in shower.

The second bedroom with two twin beds is accessed from the entry hall of the Master Suite, and has pocket doors for privacy.

The third bedroom on the main level has a Full size bed, and has French doors which open to the pool area. The fourth bedroom with Queen bed is accessed from the lower patio, and offers privacy and escape from the bustle of the upper levels.

Much of your visit to Villa Riviera will be spent in the backyard with its expansive brick patio, large rectangular pool (not heated), and spa. A sunny poolside cabana with Spanish tile and expansive windows, adapts for indoor poolside entertaining or a quiet afternoon retreat out of the sun.

A lower grassy yard invites lazy afternoon naps or snacking from the very tasty fruit on mature orange and apple trees. A private downstairs studio with powder room is the perfect retreat for added guests. This room has a separate entrance off the backyard though it does not have access to the main house upstairs.

Villa Riviera is a welcome escape for anyone seeking the outdoor vacation lifestyle for which Santa Barbara is famous. The home and surrounding property promises spectacular sunrises, serene sunsets and wonderful moments in between.
